I disposed of my Dell desktop in February on which I had successfully recorded DVD-R discs to playback my photos and camcorder pics.
I have now obtained a VGC-V2S Sony desktop.....a superb piece of kit BUT the DVD'd I copy will not playback on my tv dvd player. Can anyone explain why this should be and how can I correct this situation?

Does your DVD support the media (- or +), you see there's a difference, and picky DVD players throw tantrums.
My DVD player supports both + and - discs. My previous PC workrd well with my dvd players. How can I format my new Sony pc to work in this way
Are you using Click2DVD?
No I am not using click to DVD. Simply saving to disc. Is this a possible explanation?
Thanks for your interest in my problem
Yes, that is a problem, as Windows does not support native DVD writing.
You're going to need software like Nero's InCD to do such a thing.
Thanks for the advice. However when I set up the new desktop I installed Nero (which I had used in the past). My new Sony PC however did not like Nero and refused to play DVD's until I uninstalled Nero.
Where do you suggest I go from here please?
Wonder why it wouldn't?
Have you used Drag n Drop CD/DVD?
No....I have never used drag & drop DVD. I shall have a look and see if I can master that program and report back.
Thanks for your help so far
Geoff
