My PCV-W1/G is nearing a year old. Having gone back to Sony a few times for minor ailments, I'm worried that repairs from now on are going to cost a fortune.
After 1 year old, has anyone taken out a warranty against breakdown and if so, are you happy with them and would you recommend them.
sorry to hear that you have problems. but i do understand your worries. there IS an extended warranty available.

There are also similar warranties available from other providers, but check the print VERY carefully to see what they will and will not cover.
DABS.com have a good price for the warranty.
It is usually better to get a warranty for V1/W1from Sony because of their part-specificness.
Yeah but you can but it from anywhere, Savastore have it, so Sony are overcharging for the warranty if they can sell the exact same thing for less.
Isnt that always the case? I bought my computer from dabs.com!
Its like Sony's wicked strategy to overprice its products on the website so no one ever buys them!
Yeah too true Akanksha!
SonyStyle 2 year extra warranty currently stands at £170. Is that a lot? I'll be needing one myself soon.
are the warranties available on the sony website different for ntoebooks and desktops? And V1 is a desktop for classification purposes?
Coz, there is a lot of choices of internet retailers who sell Warranties, i am unsure which one I should buy, any suggestions??????
Thanks!:smileyconfused:
