Fan noise on VPCSE1V9E, is that a problem?

I am planning on buying a VPCSE1V9E with i7 processor.

But I am affraid of the fan noise. I have tested a VPC 13 series and that fan was to loud even when surfing and watching movies.

What about VPCSE1V9E, how about the fan noise?

I am only going to use it for surfing and watchiong HD movies, not games.

I want a silent computer.

It was a brand new VPC-13, and it didn´t matter what surface.

Most laptop fans will NOT sound the same!

There have to be a difference due to fan size, heat dissipation, strategy for controling the fan and so on.

I have tried a ASUS N53 and it is almost totally quiet even during high load.

The most annoying with the VPC 13 series was the strategy for controling the fan. The fan noise went up and down when only starting an application, it was a too fast regulation of the fan rpm. The lowest rpm was also not as quiet as I would expect.

The fan must be relatively small on the VPCSE1V9E becouse it is so thin.

My question is if there are the same fan regulation system in VPCSE1V9E as in VPC series 13 and if the idle noise from the fan are the same.

Hi There,

To be honest with you, most laptops CPU fans will sound the same, so those two laptops fans are goind to sound quite identical unfortunatly.

With regards to fans in laptops, was this a new laptop that you were testing? I've never known them to be so loud that they are unbearable. They will alternate in sound with regards to what the laptop is being used for, how many programs you have running, what serface you are using the laptop on etc.

I hope this helps.
