Hi again
ok thanks for clearing up the bit on the recovery cds Kee Lo, presumably the Vaio recovery utility tool is self explanatory when i use it anyhow (i **** hope so). Mind u my notebook is already havin a few glitches already and its my second day of use.
Just wondering for all u S series owners are u finding that your fan always seem to be spinning at varied rates and then switches off momentarily for like 5-10 seconds and starts up again.... BTW im on Perfromance CPU control and Fan control.
also... my Right hand palm rest is a bit warm, thats normal right? presumably the hard disk is underneath?? it just seems to be almost too warm for a laptop!
Cheers
OMG thats terrible that the palm rest is worn in 2 days!
COME ON SONY!
As for the fan, many S users have said the same thing.
hi i just got the s3hp yesterday, i was wondering the same! the bottom of the laptop gets very hot feel it at the bottom near the right? when the laptop is on my lap my legs get very warm, also ive noticed the battery is abit loose, the fan starting and stopping is normal mine does it.
yes its very warm, especially underneath on the righthand side and my battery is very wobbly!!! and i thought sony were good in build quality.
i just been to the shop to look at the display model, the bottom not half as hot as mine, the perfoemance settings are the same, i dont think mine should be getting this hot.
That isn't HOT!
Believe me, I have just given back a P4 notebook to Fujitsu-Siemens where you couldn't put your hand on the left hand palm rest because it got too hot! The PCMCIA Card couldn't be touched because its even hotter.
They told me it was Normal and that laptop ran 9 hours a day for 8 months and was still working when I gave it back.
The Sony has a special gas-filled heat sink with an 's' shaped cooling heatsink attached.
The laptop is quite cool as far as I am concerned.
Anyway, use a mouse.
