My laptop is a VGN FW21L and I have all the latest firmware update. The WinDVD is also updated and is the latest version. The disc drive was replaced last October due to playback problems.
The Blu Ray disc drive now plays some discs but not others for no apparent reasons. For example, it plays the Blu Ray movie "Dorian Gray" but will not play the Blu Ray "Love Actually"; both movies are bought from HMV London.
It does not play movies that it used to play, both Blu Ray and DVD. Just to give two examples, I tried Iron Man (Blu Ray) and Resident Evil (DVD), it would not play. Both movies played fine previously.
Please note that I could not play the DVDs (which it used to play fine) using Windows Media Player or other DVD playback software either: the drive does not recognise that there is a disc in it.
There is no message or anything displayed on the screen. It simply does not play some of the Blu Ray/DVDs.
