Got no sound

I haven't got any audio. I've checked control panel & says no audio device'. The only sound I get is the windows beeps.I'm running XP Home.

Any advise? Thank you.

What Vaio model do you have?

Have you recently installed a retail version of Windows XP? If so it will be necessary to first install the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio - KB888111 before installing the audio driver. A Google should locate this.

Given your model number and whether it is an OEM OS we may be able to help further.
