Hi, Can some one point me in the right direction to get rid of the awful "Click" sound that my HD makes every once in a while. I had the problem in the very begning when I got the laptop, then it somehow disappeared, but it's back to haunt me after 2 years now.
My Laptop is PCG-GR314MP, HD is IBM Travelstar, 20 GB, 4200rpm.
Thanks
Try Intel's Application Accelerator (make sure you get 2.2, as the new versions do not support the mobile processor).

this can be solved. Follow this link to HP's website.

You need a firmware upgrade for the disk drive - probably a hitachi DK23CA-20 or 30 or 40.
Follow the instructions listed on that page - including how to check that your drive is a hitachi DK23CA
YOu can also find this fix on dell's website, sony's... not sure.
This worked for me...
The hard disk in the GRX series is a Toshiba, it's got NOTHING to do with Hitatchi.
