Hard Disk Partition?

Hello, I have just bought a sony Desktop RZ504 and i have it all up and running, but i have noticed that the 250Gb hard disk has been partititioned by default. Drive C/ which is 27Gb and Drive D/ which is 204Gb. I would like to know if it is possible to delete this partition and just have the one main Drive C/ , as i would like to install a second hard disk and also only having free 20Gb on drive C/ is not nearly enough drive space as some programs install by default on drive C/ with no option to put it on a different drive, Thank in advance

If you make a system recovery, you can configure the partition size. But it's better if you use one partition for data and one for programs.

I don't suugest to do that !
But if you want you can use partition manager by Symantec that avoid any loss of data.

I would suggest that you use Partition Magic to increase the size of your C drive but still maintain the D drive.
It is not necessary to delete the D drive as any new drive that you install will automatically be assigned a new letter. Available drive allocation is from A to Z.

Back up, thats whats important here.
Put it on DVD or another hard disk.
Don't risk it!
I have first hand knowledge of messing up with Partition Magic

Partition Magic and the partition manager by Symantec are shareware and you must pay it. I you use Acronis Partition Expert 2003(freeware version, which is two years old).

I you don't have any software to configure the size of a partition. Then the only way is to use your recovery DVD!

No matter what program, should still back up.

The easy solution is to install the new hard disk, transfer any data that needs to be kept to the new drive, then perform a recovery on the boot drive and remove the unwanted partition at the same time.
