Hard drive failure

Hey, i have my viao for two years and the hard drive seems to have failed just yesterday.I think my guarantee is up; what are my options? Should i just buy a new hard drive from sony or should i just try and upgrade at this stage?

It would probably be cheaper to obtain and fit a hard drive yourself..
