Hello everyone,
i have a FS195XP and it has a C drive and D drive for hard disks.
But it only uses the 10GB C drive. How do i change it so it uses the D drive.
thanks in advance

Most programmes have an option to `save as¿, or a default location to save files. Create a folder for each application on the D drive, e.g. `word documents¿, and then save them to this location.
You can also install programmes to run from the D drive if you so wish.
Also, if you are happy that your computer is working correctly delete all but the most recent restore point (Windows System Restore). This will free up a lot of space on the C drive. There is also an option to configure the amount of space that is allocated for restore points ¿ Start > All Programmes > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > System Restore Settings > System Restore > Drive settings ¿ Settings. Reduce this to say 5%, or no more than 500MB. This will of course limit your ability to roll back more than approx. four set points but will save space on the C drive.

Can I suggest you right click on the My Documents Link and Select properties. There, you can change the location of your documents to the 😧 drive. It will ask if you want to move your documents to the new location. Select yes.

I have created a folder on the d: drive for each user and moved the my documents area for each user to this area.

It's the best way to do it, specially with VAIOs partitioning.

AT least when you save everything onto the D drive, your files are reasonably safe in case you need to do a basic recovery.

Personally, I keep the C drive for Windows XP, and any program I have the CD at hand for. All personal files, downloads (such as anti virus software updates) I keep on the D drive.

The D drive itself I set up in a number of folders (e.g. steve001, steve002 etc) and keep these all to around 600mb. Then I burn a few CDs from time to time as a back up.

It is also worth finding the location of your e-mail folder (e.g. Outlook). If you save this folder (something like outlook.pst) from time to time, you can back up your e-mails

Anyone know where the address book is saved??
