Hardware problem, can anyone help?

Hi!
I own a Sony PCV-RS desktop pc, 2.8 gig athlon, 128 meg nvidia card, 512 meg of ram.
THe problem is the blue 'Vaio' light and the power light keep randomly flashing whilst the internal speaker emits a high pitched noise. I have disabled the internal speaker via the hardware profile on windows yet it still keeps doing this. The problem has only occured i nthe past few weeks, and i have thoroughly checked my computer for viruses with Norton. Any ideas anyone? I can't pul lthe internal speaker out because it's attached to the mother board.

hi kee_lo .do you think we should have a known issues page which would be searchable with keywords ie "beeps and flashes" which would save a lot of time searching different threads to see if anybody has a solution:smileyhappy:

Well the boys and girls at Sony promised us a search for the end of July, and there's still nothing I hope it comes soon.

We really need to have search to save everyone's time

Cheers mathrobe! Just moved back home from uni and my room's really dusty here so no wonder it happened in the last few weeks. Your right about it being a bad design fault, not a usual Sony trait!
Got doom 3 fully up and running with the latest drivers, WOO HOOOOOO what an amazing game! Still prefer the old one tho.
