HD knocking noise

So when you have problems with this knocking noise of the HD you need to go to sony to repair it?
Opening up the laptop and doing it yourself will mean you lose warranty?

If you dismantle the notebook then (if they can tell) your warranty will be invalid.

Some models of hard disk do make a tapping noise and this doesn't necessarily indicate a fault.

It's just a single short knock and it's frequence varies but it's quite hard...

i have had 4 laptops in the past this is my first sony and they all have done this nose espacially when you are going through your files so i think you should just accept it thats what you will have to put up with.if still worried why don't you open an e-support to see what they say?
