HDD "click" sound problem on FE21M

Hi,

the subject exists already but it's too long , over 40 pages , and it's not allowed to go directly to the end of the post !!

so a new one,

i have bought a FE21 M one year ago and the hard disk sound describes in previous message appears now ....... ( ?? why now ?? ),

my question:

is there another solution than use the file FE21M given by a member, to copy it on a CD boot and make a firmware flashing ? is this solution secure ?

i am very surprise that Sony dont give to the users an udpate system for this problem which seems to be very common and very old ( 1 year !!! )

so what does sony propose ? there is no update on Fujitsu web site also for the driver of the HDD MHV2160BT ...........

Hi Philippe, I too had this problem with the same model, I emailed esupport and after diagnosis they sent me a Firmware upgrade, you should try this, I haven't had the clicking sound problem since.
Also yes I too have already mentioned the lack of a go to end of a thread facility, it gets too tedious to keep having to click through undresd of pages.

Have you tried clicking the “Last Page” icon?
