hdmi font "corruption"

I have an xl100 and the font displayed is not very clear. Its like the screen resolution is wrong and so it scales the font

i connect to a plasma telly with hdmi am i expecting to much?

now the bad news for me, it looks like Mypanasonic tv does not have this option?

Does anyone know words this feature is also sometimes known as?

my telly is th-42pv60e
