Help!! New Vaio XL201 wont connect to Home Wireless LAN?

I have 2pcs and a mac connected to the internet effortlessly. I hooked up the xl201 yesterday (screwed in the antenna) but the darn thing keeps saying no wireless networks are in range. My mac in the same room picks up 5 networks. What am I missing? or is this thing broken. The WLAN light is lit up on the front panel. I checked the switch to 2.4ghz yet it wont pick up anything. I am ready to pull my hair out. Please help. Thanks

Did you setup the wireless networking via the Media Center interface?
When I first installed my XL201, I used the Media Center setup to enter all the appropriate wifi stuff but it would not work.... after much frustration I looked at the settings via the normal windows control panel tools and the settings did not seem to match what I had entered. In the end I reconfigured the wifi via the normal windows wireless networking facility (not media center) and after one or two reboots it all worked fine.

Good luck

Thanks. What finally worked is going into network connections and disabling and then re-enabling the wireless adapter. It has stopped working again and again. Each time resetting the wireless adapter works but it is very annoying.
