Hi there,
i have a VGN- N11M
been having problems so backed up all my files and attempted a system restore.
now it wont start again. getting erreor message
File usbehci.sys caused an unexpected error (4111) at line 5964 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup.c.
and press any key to continue.
when i press any key i get message
setup failed. press any key to restart your computer
press any key and ........back to file usbechi.sys.......
someone says we need a recovery disc for xp service pack 2, please could someone tell me how to get hold of this????

welcome to Club VAIO..
Disconnect everything from your Vaio except from AC power.
Try resetting your BIOS and then try a system recovery using the HDD partition.
To reset your BIOS restart your Vaio and Press F2 when you see the Vaio logo.
Wait for the BIOS to load
Then press F9 Setup Defaults
Ensure yes is highlighted and press enter to confirm
Then press F10 Save and Exit, ensure yes is highlighted and press enter to confirm.
Using the hidden HDD recovery partition should restore your Vaio back to the original installed OS and programs just as it was when you first used your Vaio.
To do this Start your Vaio and when you see the Vaio logo screen press F10 repeatedly, then select full recovery..
Make sure you've backed up your data first as this will erase all personal data from your Vaio..

Data already backed up as was attempting system restore 🙂
Have followed your advice re the bios, but back to square one with the messages as before, pressing f10 repeatedly does not work, tried f8 too just for good mearure, but no luck.
your advice is greatly appreciated, am going nuts trying to sort this out lol

What happened when you started your Vaio and pressed the F10 key when you saw the Vaio logo.?
Soz, been away couple days, yes was able to access the bios, but then when pressing the f10 key at the vaio logo it just starts to beep when f10 key pressed, then just getting the error messages as above
