High sound when computer is off

I've got an VGN-A195EP. When I shut my computer down, there is still a very high sound comming from the back. You can't nearly hear it, but is is like a sound of streaming electricity. A transformator or something like that. Do you know if it is normal. PS: the sounds stops by removing the battery.

Mmmh? I have a similar sound if my laptop is connected with the AC-power supply.

I have that sound, it's normal, as it's the current being alternated.

strong, like the mystical sound from the TFT display.

Some displays get a noise when you switch applications too.
