how to deinstall My Club Vaio

My Sony Vaio C, automatically starts My Club Vaio when Vista starts up..

I checked under installed applications, and msconfig but can't find a way to deinstall or at least cancel the automatic startup of my club vaio?

Anyone who can help?

Hi

You should be able to stop My Club Vaio.exe from starting if you go to start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks..

Then dis enable the MCV entry..

Depending on your Vaio model Sony has also recently released a Startup fix for My Club VAIO, check out the download section for your Vaio here..

HI ! I just got a Vaio and found the club vaio thing really annoying too...so! after a lot of registry searching I found out how to stop it....

Open "regedit" (it's in the windows directory)

Hit ctl+f to open the search/find box

enter the following "28249750-5001495" and run a search.

It should lead you to a reg entry that starts with the above string which is in the root directory "Tasks". if it doesn't..just ctl+f and "find next" until you hit it.

It contains a value \\launch MCV (sorry can't remember the exact text I've already removed it)

Delete the complete entry begining with "28249750-5001495" on the left pane...you can not delete or modify the offending value within.

I have rebooted and tested a number of times and have had no side effects...just that My club Vaio no longer runs at start up.

If you still want to go to MCV just use the Start menu shortcut or the desktop one if you still have it.

Glad to be of service !

Note: This fix works, but, messing about in your registry in Vista if you don't know what your doing will most likely seriously mess up your installation and lead to the need for a full factory restore.
