How to fix red screen error on Playstation 3?

There's a red screen error that shows up on the screen in different  languages. I want to know if there is a fix for this. And no calling  Sony isn't an option because I'm not covered by warranty so don't  suggest that. I accessed the recovery menu and am not able to rebuild  the database or restore the file system. What is a good method for  fixing this.

hold the ps3s power button untill you hear two beeps and let go and the re configure the hdmi option in the boot menu and it will be fixed ...
