I am trying to restore my computer using my recovery discs and having problems

I have a sony vaio VPCEB1E0E and am trying to recover my conputer using the discs as I can't start windows.  I only get as far as putting the disc in and it gets stuck on a dark blue screen with the mouse showing.  I've also tried the F10 option and after a few moments a dialog box appears saying that vaio recovery tools are being launched and it just sits there doing nothing, any help or advice would be appreciated.

Do you know why you are unable to start windows.?
