I am due to set off to Cardiff at 4.30am tomorrow and i went to add some music to my VP and forgot to stop playing a track and automatically hooked i up to my PC to find the thing had crashed, this has happened before and has turned off after about an hour but in this case i have just charged it fully so i does not seem likely that i am going to be taking my VP as it only has 5 hours to turn itself off, and the battery lasts for 20 hours.:smileycry:
What i want to know is there any chance i can make it turn off straight away, in fact i am so desparate i am contenplating opening the thing up and removing the battery and puttin it back in.
So you's with VP's that batteries seem to go quickly count yourselves lucky.
It happened to me once that i didn't know abaout the reste button so my VP hanged and I removed the battery. All worked fine later.
Now, I use the reset button... It happened like 2 - 3 times in 5 months, near where you connect to the base.
You have to use something very thin.
Yep, I have just done that and it works fine now!
I also think i have solved the reason why it keeps crashing in the 1st place because the casing over the battery was slightly loose and where the wires connect to the circuit board i simply clicked it fully into place
so much for quality check from sony. and i am still unsure on the reset button.
Where it is exactly ,,in more detail whats does it look like?
And waht happens when i reset it? do i lose any files or data?
No, you wont lose any files whatsoever. The switch is located underneath the VP on the narrow side opposite the power switch. It is a small hole that you will need to push a pin in to activate the switch. You will need to reset the time etc. after doing this, but your music files are safe. This normally solves any problems I have with my VP. If you still cant find the switch then look at the quick start guide, as it shows you in there.
I hope youre not going to Cardiff for the match. I bet your a manc supporter too. I'm a Newcastle season ticket holder and I think we'll get thrashed, and so does everybody else up here. Never mind. Enjoy.
Yep!! I am GEORDIE from SOUTH SHIELDS!
On my way to Cardiff to see us beat the manc's
