This is quite a common problem. Have you tried all the troubleshooting steps on facebook's help pages here: -

If those don't help, please let us know which Firewall/AntiVirus software you have installed as this may be blocking the upload. Also let us know which browser you are using - have you tried another browser?

Do you get any error messages?
