I need to fit a more modern motherboard in my PCG-8F1M laptop pcg grv-516g

512 mb memory is NOT enough !
Anybody with any ideas on what motherboard will fit my laptop to enable me to install at least 2gb memory

Hi judred and welcome to Club Vaio.

All the Vaio motherboards are customised for Sony and unique to them - I doubt you will get a preplacement to work.

It will surely by cheaper and more effective to upgrade the laptop.

It appears that I will have to buy some other manufacturers laptop if Sony don't make upgraded motherboards for their laptops, it is a shameful waste of money to buy a crippled laptop, which it looks like I did when I bought my Sony laptop which apparently cannot be upgraded, thanks for the advice anyway:smileysad:
