Impossible recovery to new hard drive

Hi there, Hard drive failed. Bought new one and formatted as C:. Used recovery disks made from original installation on my Vaio but it keeps telling me it cant recover to C:. i suspect it is because there is no hidden partition with The BCD and op software required for an F12 recovery.

Anyone out there know how to get around this?

Have you tried selecting 'Complete Recovery' rather than just trying to recover Drive C?

I have yes, I keep getting error :403. Have tried it with an SSD drive as weel as the new 400Gb drive and keep getting the same error message
