I have just got a new Samsung 32" HDTV which is compatible with 720p and 1080i, my PlayStation 3 works fine through HDMI but my Sony VGN-FZ11S notebook with nVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT grapjics chops part of the screen off (mainly the task bar isn't really visible and neither is title bars). I have checked the resolution and I have it set at 1280x720 for my HDTV.
As my PlayStation 3 is fine on the TV, it must be my computer that is actually cropping the screen.
I was hoping to use the HDTV as a monitor when I'm working on my notebook at home.
Can anyone help? Thanks
Managed to fix it!
It wasn't my computer after all. My TV was set to "16:9" mode and after reading the manual, I found a mode called "Just Scan" that is designed for HDMI and doesn't cut off any of the image.
Now, my computer looks great through my HDTV!
