iTunes cannot find library on my VAIO

Recently purchased VAIO VGN-FW31J and I'm having trouble with iTunes and the library - specifically I can load the library (about 100gb) on to iTunes but when I close down the VAIO and reopen it next day the library is gone. I then have to reload each time and this is annoying and time consuming. Can anyone supply a permanent solution?
Many thanks

Hi katetpgk and welcome to Club Vaio.

This is a conflict between the Vaio entertainment system and iTunes. Both want to own the music library and they fight over it.

The easiest solution is to rename your iTunes directory path or move it somewhere else. Try creating a new folder in your user account called My Music and move the already created iTunes music folder contents to this. Then when you open iTunes the next time, hold the Shift Key down and it will ask you for the path to the iTunes directory. Point it at your new location and everything should be OK.

I haven't tried it but there are several updates for the Vaio Entertainment Platform on the download site for your model here: -

Installing these may also cure the problem.

Hi

welcome to Club VAIO..

There are 3 VAIO Entertainment Platform Updates, available on the Vaio Support update site, that may help with the iTunes problem..

To open Vaio support, either by clicking Support at the top of this page or use the following link:Vaio support

Under Log-in option 2: Select your VAIO model, next to Select Model Category - Select your model from the drop down list, in your case VGN FW.

Then next to Select Model - select FW31J

Then click Log-In

Once logged select Downloads, then one of the VAIO Entertainment Platform updates and follow the installation instructions..
