Hi,

I have a Sony E Series Laptop.

Is there an inbuilt program or info from the BIOS that would inform me of the current working tempature of the CPU cores etc or if a safe, reliable program is available.

I would have a look at PC Wizard 2010 or Speedfan. Both are free, reliable and do what you are asking. CNET downloads are all tested to be spyware free.
