Laptop VGN-SR29VN

I have recently upgraded my (oldish) laptop (SR29VN) to WIndows 7 from XP.

I have lost drivers for Power Control and Mode Switich as well as functionality on the Hot Keys.

I can't seem to find the rignt thing to download from the Sony site.

Can anyone guide me please?

Many thanks

Hi Tim,

All the necessary Win 7 upgrade utilities are available on the Support site...

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VGN-SR29VN_S/updates

...but as the machine would seem to have been downgraded from Vista to XP at some stage I'm unsure whether these will necessarily work. If not then you may need to return the notebook to factory settings (Vista) before upgrading the utilities.

The utilities that control the function keys must be installed in a sequence - i.e.

Setting Utility Series.

Sony Shared Library.

Vaio Event Service.

Vaio Control Centre.

Also if you have installed a retail copy of Windows 7 it will probably be necessary to first install the original SFEP driver - this needs to be installed from within Device Manager.

If any of the above needs clarification please let us know.
