Lost burn capability

It appears that after updating itunes to itunes 7 other software like windows media 11 and click to dvd no loger see the cd/dvd drive as a burning device. I've uninstalled itunes, to no effect, and intalled wmp 11 beta 2.

Any ideas?

One idea....

Start - Run 'services.msc' and scroll down to imapi cd-burning com service. Right click and select properties.

Check the service status. Is it stopped? If so start it.

Try a systems restore so if any files (default) can be re found and any newly installed programs can be taken out of the picture. Then you will be able to see if the itunes etc was really the problem.

Should work -are you sure you typed the name correctly (without the quotes)?

Alternatively: -

Start -> Right-click My Computer -> Manage -> Services and Applications -> Double-click on Services.
