matshita uj820d upgrade?

I have a sony pcg-k155z laptop.Have a matshita uj820d in it as a burner.I couldn't get the burner to burn DVD at 4X.Most ly at 2.4
I'm using nero 6.6.0.1.Any update in firmware available?

DL disks are so expensive I would only do the update if it's very necessary
