After a long time without using Media Gallery I have opened it recently. After seeing the update notification I have downloaded and installed the update file and then Media Gallery has vanished. So I have tried to reinstall it manually using the downloaded file in the C:/Update folder but the installation process has stopped after a while with an error notification.
I really wonder how Sony manages to achieve this kind of epic fail. Everything is Sony here. The hardware, the softwares...
I would appreciate any help from someone who experienced similar problems.
Thanks is advance...

Hi emreact,
As the update has caused problems and if reinstalling the original Media Gallery software works then I would avoid trying to update unless you were experiencing problems with this program previously. Work on the principal that if it isn’t bust then don’t fix it.
That said occasionally antivirus programs can cause problems when updating, so if you want to try again first disable whatever antivirus you are running.

Hi. What is the model on this notebook? The installer might be available in the download section.
It's a VPCF13S0E and nope, it's not in the download section yet... The version number of the actual MG is 2.0.1.xxxxxx.
Hi emreact,
Try reinstalling the original software using Vaio Recovery Center > Reinstall Programs or Drivers.

Thanks for the reply Rich.
Any idea or advice as to how I can manage to update the software successfully after the factory-install?

Hi Rich,
After installation of the initial Media Gallery via VaioCare, I deactivated every module of my unkillable Bitdefender and initiated the update manually via the previously by VaioUpdate downloaded file in "C:/Update" folder. After a quite strange installation which was very long (approx. 20 min.) and "silent" (one couldn't understand whether it was installing or stopped totally) the process ended successfully but with 4 or 5 security messages from Bitdefender, two of them being quarantined viruses. I restored these files before opening Media Gallery. Everything seems working now.
Thank you for your support.
