Hi, I have a PCG-242M with Windows XP for 5 years and never used the MOTION EYE webcam.
Now I want to use it but can't get it to work.
Do I need to download a driver first?
Where do I find it?
Can someone help a 75 year old man?

Hi covrie and welcome to Club Vaio.

Unfortunately you are quoting a chassis number - can you check for the Vaio type (usually it can be found on the screen surround).

I'll take a guess that you have a VGC-LA1 which uses the VGP-VCC1 camera. Please go to Device Manager and look in the section for 'Imaging Devices' and see if the 'Sony Visual Communications Camer VGP-VCC1' is showing as being installed correctly.

If you come back with that info we can move forward from there.
