multi screen problem

Hi,

I'm having a serious problem with my VHN-AR11B notebook. After trying to see my holliday snapshots on my LCD tv using a HDMI connection and trying some different setting on my NVIDIA Control panel, I don't have normal vision on my laptop. It seems that there is much bigger screen available then I can see (I can scroll my pointer outside the screen on the right side of the screen)
Trying to acces the NVIDIA Control center just gives me a little icon in the status bar (and maybe a larger winder somewhere outside my screen)

I tried to connect an extra screen but so far without any luck. The recovery disk seems no option a this moment because I havent backed up my holliday photos.

Please let me know how to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance,

JATI

Hi Jati,

Welcome to Club Vaio,

Right click on the windows desktop and select properties..

A display properties window should open, select the settings tab..

Click monitor 1 and check the screen resolution set to 1400 x 900...?

Thalamus, thanks for your reply.
I've tried your solution, but when I select properties no display properties window opens........

Do you have any other suggestions ?

Try getting to the display window from the start menu.

Start>Control Panel>Display>Settings

and follow Thalamus's advice.

If this doesn't work try a System Restore to a point just before you connected the TV.

I can't enter the control panel. It seems to open outside the window of my laptop. The only thing I see is the small control panel icon in the bottom taskbar of my screen.

Hi JATI,

Try booting-up in 'Safe Mode'. When you see the Vaio Logo tap away at F8 until the menu appears. Choose Safe Mode and hit enter.

This will open your Vaio with a default screen resolution of 640 X 480. It will look a bit strange but you should be able to see the whole screen and go to Control Panel and set your No1 Display to 1440 X 900.

Reboot your Vaio.

If this doesn't work try a System Restore to a date before you had the problem

Yes, booting-up in safe made did the trick. After a system restore everything workend perfect again.

Thanks Blencogo for your excellent advise.
