LOL, after approx 2 years, I have burnd my first DVD with my PCG-FR315S.
I used Nero Vision Express 3.
I needed for the transcoding from VOB into MPEG2 approx 80 minutes. (for a 140 minutes movie, Audio = Dolby AC3 2.0, VBR).
For the burning itself, I needed approx 50 minutes for the 4,3 GB file.
DVD-drive: SONY DVD RW DW-U50A (DVD+R/RW: 2x/2x, DVD-R/RW: 1x/1x)
used media: Intenso DVD-R 4,70 GB. But only 4,38GB was writeable with this drive.
Scandisc with Nero CD/DVD Speed: 0% failure
BTW: the DVD plays on my old Playstation2. That means that there seems to be no problems with compatibility.
Good or what?
How fast is your VAIO?
Thats excellent Seb
A DVD takes 14mins on my RA104 to burn - not sure how long a film takes as I have never done it
Mmmh, It's one 3,4GB file. Maybe smaller files could burn faster. No idea. But for a 1x speed it's fast, IMO.
The other thing is that you can't burn faster than the system can shift files to the drive. I could burn CDs with 16x speed. But I'm never faster than 9x.:smileycool:
These Intenso discs are really good IMO. LOL, the DVDs have a blue color.
My drive can burn at 8x
and read at around 12x
I think one of the reason is the sort of files.
To read a Audiodisc lasts longer than a data disc. I think there is a similar thing if you want burn the disc. (correct me if I'm wrong)
my burn quite fast too hehehe
hehehe
I want to do hehe like u guys one day too LOL
I mean burn a DVD:smileygrin:
Cds rip at around 16x on my machine
