Netbook query

Today I had remote help with installing my Norton 360 and the chap in India 'locked' the numbers and I haven't been able to unlock them since. I now cannot type without nunbers being added into words and it is so frustrating.

Can you tell me how to switch it off please

Hi empscott and welcome.

Have you tried pressing the "NumLk" key?

:thinking:

Yes, but it doesn't switch it off. Is there another way. It has never happened before

There is a possibility that the Norton support agent has disabled the Num Lk function within the registry.

Try the following:

1. Click Start, click Run (or search), and type regedit to open the Windows registry editor.

2. In the registry, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard\

3. Within the keyboard folder, you should have a string value named "InitialKeyboardIndicators" with a value of 0, 1, or 2.

Below is the explanation of each of these values.

0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after the logon.

1 = Disable Num Lock.

2 = Numlock is turned ON after the logon.
