NEW GFX for ancient fine PCV-RX624 please ...

Hello.

Have fantastic 7 yr old PCV-RX624 still working, but need
a newer better GFX card for a couple of applications.

The limiting factor is the inbuilt 250-280w PSU.

AGP supplied/current card is Nvidia Geforce4 Ti4200 64mb.

Can please anyone advise me what to try to buy that is
compatible/will not burst the PSU etc? I realize that
probably I would have to hunt out an obsolete but better card.

Thanks.

I/we love this m/c so much that despite having newer other lappie stuff
we want to keep it going.

I suspect that something like a Geforce 6200 256k might do the AGP job.

Today I installed new £29 Geforce 6200, and our beloved 2003 ancient
as new desktop brilliantly made PCV-RX624 works a treat running progs.
our 3 year old lappie cannot. I was looking to buy new i7-fast GFX m/c purely to
run a couple of recent progs. What a shame Sony do not make proper desktop
computers any more.

Good to see another desktop fan!

My VGC-RC102 is still going strong and if far better at handling analogue video. Desktops are so easy to update giving them a lifespan many times longer than a non-upgradable notebook.

Although I have notebooks, I still spend 90% of my time on the desktop.
