I absolutely agree with Chris_Lewis!
One more thing, dealing with Sony support centre, warranty centre, or any other kind of customer care is a nightmare! Save the money, and spend it on a new one!

thnx for your responce Chris not what i wanted to hear, is Sony that much of a nightmare ? We do have statatory rights in this country as consumers last time i looked... In fact ,if im not mistaken, the normal manufactors warrantee on items like the pocket should be 2 years and not 1. If Sony customer care is such a nightmare ive got a challenge on my hands, I intend to follow and persue this matter further with consumer affairs and see if they take an interest to question Sony on its consumer ethiics anyhow , ill keep u posted on any progress if any.. Also how do i get a "lava lamp" chris i love it
regards cool:smileyhappy:

Hi,

imo the only time yor VP will break is if you drop it!! saying that I have an NW-HD1 that has met concrete more than once and he's fine, Sony walkmans are seriously built to last, I still have the bright yellow sports walkman cassete player, works fine to this day!!!

A warranty for the VP will probably be £50 - £70, and it may not cover accidental damage!!

If it was a laptop maybe, but the cost of the warranty is just not worth it, considering the initial purchase price!

They should really change it to 2 here too, if Germany can do it, why can the UK not?

Trading Standards here can help if things do go wrong and the manufacturer gets tough.
