no output device installed

i have a vgn-sz4xwn/c which was pre-installed with vista business,i upgraded to ultimate and then went onto windows media center added an extender to link with my xbox 360.

as i was exploring the media center i clicked on the volume button for the media center and i got a message saying that an error had occured and my speakers might not work properly, when i place my pointer over the sound icon it now says no output device installed can anyone help me please cheers

Make sure you have the latest drivers for the sound card

do you know what sound card is installed on my vaio as i cant find any info about it all i have in my device manager under sound is a sigmatel codec i only bought my vaio 2 days ago and this is very frustrating any help would be much appreciated cheers

If you go to VAIO-Link they should have the latest Sigmantel HD drivers.
