Hi there,
I have a VGN-N31M Vaio laptop which I'm generally very happy with. Unfortunately though the audio output produces annoying noise and interference when I'm running the laptop using the AC adaptor from the mains. The noise disappears as soon as the AC adaptor is unlugged and I run from battery. It is frustrating as I don't like to use the battery when not necessary but music listening is unbearable unless I'm doing so.
After a bit of searching I think I the laptop may be suffering from 'ground-looping' from the mains adaptor which seems to be quite common. The only solution I've find so far is to disconnect the earth pin on the plug which doesn't seem like a particularly sensible option.
Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of this noise so I cam listen to music again without draining my battery?
Pablo.
