only 2048mb Ram in my AR41S

Is there a reason why my AR41S can't be upgraded to more than 2GB of RAM. I'm guessing there is a simple reason but I've been told that all the motherboards in the AR series laptops are the same so I'm a tad confused

Alternatively, is there a way I can change the amount of RAM my GPU is using as well as its own.
