Can anyone tell me if there is a download anywhwere for the original bios for this museum piece of mine (or updated bios) support site not showing anything , and have had to fit new hard drive so things have gone abit pear shaped.
Has anyone upgraded their win 98 setup to xp and got hotkeys/power panel to work also?
Thanks
Write a message to the useless e-support or call VAIO-Link. Time that these useless guys something do.
Been there done that..waste of time.Cannot even register for e support as it does not recognise my machine serial (bought 1999 so out of date as far as they are concerned) got the big brush off when asking about changing to xp ages ago "no support on any other os not originally loaded on notebook" not even any hints or a basic can't do or possible. This machine cost me the earth and I cannot afford to ditch it, but will not make the same mistake again.
Just have to find away to get it up and running properley again!!
Have you ever tried this site? (I think you need the model and the seriel number, it has nothing to do with registration on the e-support)

BTW this museum piece is from a time, in which Sony produced excellent laptops. You can't compare this with the s*** in this time.

Have done various searches and come up with nothing... if you check vaio download site-no bios listed for 98,or 98se so i take it if you stuff your bios then you are stuffed as well. There is abios for win2k I spoke to support ages ago and they gave the same info as i my original post..nothing. Sony block most of the bios so you cannot get at the settings to give their support an easier life and their keep their upgrade dept in wages no doubt.I have seen twexkbios which opens the rest up butits abit on the fiddly side therefore i would like to backup nad or have the original to hand before trying win2k bios or messing alittle with the settings etc.All in all probably the most un helpful support site i have come across....shame corsairmicro couldn't swallow this conglomerate up as their support is brilliant
Yeah, you must love your F270. It's a small treasure of the past.:smileyhappy:

Yeah well I think we should have a VAIO Hall Of Fame Gallery to document every VAIO ever made.
