PCG F270 original bios/updated bios

Can anyone tell me if there is a download anywhwere for the original bios for this museum piece of mine (or updated bios) support site not showing anything , and have had to fit new hard drive so things have gone abit pear shaped.
Has anyone upgraded their win 98 setup to xp and got hotkeys/power panel to work also?
Thanks

AWWWWWe

What has the BIOS to do with the operating system(like Windows).
It has nothing to do with this! I think not that it is a problem to upgrade the BIOS.

since replacing hard drive and replacing os from 98 to 98se power panel/ppk/hotkeys etc have been installed from original98 application recovery cd and do not work and are not available as programs to download in 98se section but they are in xp/win2k sections , but these are ntfs os not fat 32 so i do not want to risk messing up new install further - so what i am saying is i do not think you can mix and match from the different sections if you know what i mean

One of the reasons why the BIOS update is there is because it's recomended to use when wanting Windows 2000

"I have flashed my BIOS for Windows 2000, but now I want to return my BIOS to its original state.

Solution :

It is not possible to flash your BIOS back to its original state - please contact VAIO Link for repair.*
Although there may be some power management issues, it should still be possible to install your original Operating System on your VAIO.
* This repair is not covered the warranty of your VAIO."

Im sorry but the support site is crap

ROFL, what for a warranty? How hold is your VAIO? You have a warranty? Excuse me, but I think your warranty is over. So, forget the Sony Support.
