I thought my PC was completely defunct, but had some spare time today and have found that the hard drive is OK. I've tried to reinstall everything, as even operating system had gone, but the recovery disc only gets so far and comes up with 'SONY.IMG' error. I managed to install a general version of Windows XP, but of course, all of the original applications are not there, and also I can't get onto the internet because it says that TCP/IP is not installed. After spending weeks trying to find out what is wrong, I usually come up with the answer, but by trial and error! Does anyone with some real knowledge have any advice? I would be really grateful :smileyblush:
