Hi I have a VPCEB2E9E which is really my dads and it had a problem where it was very slow and would get a box come up saying windows is checking for a soulition of Internet explourer and the it would say Internet explourer is not responding click cancel to close. As soon as you hit the cancel button the box would close along with any other stuff you had open at the time. The box would pop up after about 30 seconds or when you pressed the mouse button about 5-6 times as if it was protection it's self as believe it is a virus. So tried to do a system restore in safe mode and as soon as you went to control panel it would close all open windows. So I thought as got back up disce do a clean install. Booted with cd in drive n asked to do a clean install , it formatted then went up to 28% then asked for the 2nd cd put it in and went to 29% then stopped left if for 3 hours and didn't go any higher. Turned off and then come up on boot up smart disc failure back up all your data, booted from cd and done a hard wear scan of drive c and d ( this one hard drive just with a partition on it done when got laptop ) It scanned c and said it fixed an error went to start drive d and stopped at 51% left it for 5 hours and didn't move any further. So do you think the format done something to think the hard drive is gonna crash or my restore CDs are faulty??
