port for S-video in PC-FR315S

yesterday, I had a presentation. When I tried to plug LCD, I just realized that LCD used S-video and there was no S-video port in my PCG-FR315S.

Any suggestion how to treat this since I am not an expert in hardware?

regards

If your computer has a composite TV output (Yellow multi pole jack socket) then you will need something like http://www.keene.co.uk/cgi-bin/bigcodesearch.pl?STOC to convert the composite output to s-video. It will not give the quality of a dedicated s-video output but it should be OK for most purposes.

You will of course also need the appropriate A/V cable for your notebook.

I only have port for connection to external monitor. any other alternative?

According to the manual for your model - it does have a TV out socket - see page 62 / 63 of your Hardware manual (English version page nos.)
ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/Manuals/Notebooks/FR/FR_HW_EN.pdf

Now I understand. So I need to buy a converter jack like the one you recommended.
One more thing, the A/V cable that you suggest, is it for connecting to TV?

Thank you,

Yes - it's the same type of cable that is used on Sony DVCams - Sony part VMC20FR

Go to www.sonystyle.co.uk and search for AV Cable

Would a USB to Serial convertor work?
