Problem when booting from standby mode

Hi!

I've got a annoying problem using my C1Z/B. Many of the times when i boot from standby mode the notebook only plays the boot sound, but the screen stays black. Nothing happens ...

When i press the power button for a while and turn the notebook on again, a DOS-display shows 2 options. 1. something like 'boot and restore settings'; when using this option the screen will turn black again as written before. When i choose the 2nd option, something like 'clear settings and boot', windows will boot and the screen works again.

Anyhow, i don't guess forcing a shutdown by pressing the power button that many times won't do the notebook any good. So i wonder if there's a sollution for this problem. I'm using Win MCE 2005 (standard installed) and the sd-cardreader that comes with this notebook by the way.

Thanks for your help!

Cya

you mean resume from hibernation ?
The 2 options are, continue resuming, the other is clean up hibernation file and try again.

Maybe you should delete and rebuild the hibernation file. You can do that in the Control Panel, Power options, hibernate tab. You unclick then click again.

Do you use a docking station ? cause I have the same problem when I use it.

Hey Pascal,

i believe you're right about the 2 options. I'll try and delete/rebuild the hibernation file. Hope that's it!

Anyway i'm not using a docking station, it just happens randomly for as far as i know.

I'll let you know when i don't have any booting problems for a couple of days!

Thanks in advance!
