RAM for S3XP

Hi. Want to expand Ram from 1 to 2 GB at my S3XP. Got different messages whether the preinstalled 1GB are already the maximum I can have. Is it true or can I buy 2 x 1024 chips to increase it to 2GB? Thanks for your replies.
