Hi Bake,

As far as I know there is no restriction to the size of hard disc you can put in the FS-Series. As long as you buy a disc with the 'Ultra ATA/100' interface you should be OK. Do NOT buy a SATA drive - it will not work.

You should be able to use your Recovery Discs to reinstall the Operating System as it was when you bought your Vaio, but I would make another two sets ....... just in case.

You may also wish to consider copying an exact mirror of your existing hard drive, complete with all updates, data and settings onto the new disc. To do this you will need a copy of Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image and an external 2.5 inch USB Caddy (something like this one) - put the new drive in the Caddy and make an exact copy of your hard drive onto it.

The upgrade process is quite simple for the FS-Series. Manual is attached: -
