Hi I am trying to get a Replacement motherboard for PCG-392M Sony Vaio laptop for a client.
I have had no luck on the Sony main support site and wondered if anyone here might point me in the right direction.
Many thanks
You won't find anything on the Sony Support site by quoting PCG-392M as that is the chassis type and is not a valid model. Have a look on the screen surround - it will be something like VGN-FZ21E.
Motherboards are usually custom made for Sony, so they will be the best source of a new one.
What is the problem? Not the nVidia Graphics chip by any chance? If so, Sony may fix it for free!
Thanks Blencogo,
You were right about the Model number being on the screen VGN-FZ21E.
Yes as far as I can tell it is a burnt out nVidia GPU - I may have to look into this free business
Thanks again.
Have a look at Sony's statement here: -

You will have to contact Sony Support on the out-of-warranty phone number. Go here and enter the #vaio's serial number: -

Good Luck!
