Resolutions on VAIO VGC-V2S !?!

It´s a great big screen this computer have.
Also a good graohics.card.

But why aren´t allowed other resolutions?
Is there a workaround for getting higher resolutions?
Maybe installing new NVIDIA drivers or another display driver?

Any solutions?

cheers,

Think it's mainly down to the screen being widescreen.

Not the answer i expected....
Kee-Lo....i had a Phillips widescreen TV (17") with VGA-connection.
In the manua it says resolution up to 1024x768 are standard and supposed to be used.
But also resolutions up to 1024x1024.
And it worked perfectly.

So let´s see our screen:
-it´s 20"
-it has a 128 MB GeForce FX
-all that are good enough for higher resolutions.

So.......
SONY: we need high resolution on this screen!!!!!!!!!!

See if there are new drivers...

Check the Sony Specifications sheet that came with your computer to see the maximum resolution supported.

The card may well support resolutions beyond 1024x768 - many can - and my ATi Radeon IGP 345M is no exception. However, the reason I cannot exceed this maximum resolution is to protect the LCD Panel.
If you are sure that the LCD Panel can support higher resolutions in accordance with the Sony Specifications Sheet and you cannot change the resolution then by all means upgrade your drivers.
